Who we are

About Make IT For Africa

A non-profit vocational and community institute in Bamenda, Cameroon, serving women and youth since 2008.

  • Founded in 2008
  • Women and youth first
  • Based in Bamenda, Cameroon

Make IT For Africa (MIFA) is a non-profit vocational and community institute in Bamenda, in the North West Region of Cameroon. Since 2008 we have worked with high-potential but disadvantaged women and youth, helping them gain the education, skills and confidence to build self-reliant futures.

Our story

MIFA was founded in 2008 to widen access to practical education and opportunity in our community. What began as language and skills training has grown into a broad programme of learning and support, always rooted in the needs of the women and young people we serve.

Our mission

To equip women and youth with the education, digital skills and support they need to take part fully in a connected economy and to build productive, self-reliant lives.

What we do

We offer language training, ICT and digital skills, vocational and technical training, civic education and study-abroad support, alongside services such as translation, exam support and psychosocial care.

Our values

People first; honesty and accuracy in everything we teach and claim; and a lasting commitment to the communities of the North West Region.

Stories from our community

“I really enjoyed the classes and the chance to see the teacher in person and do live exercises, unlike YouTube lessons. During the preparatory classes I built a lot of confidence, which helped remove my fear. Because of the classes, I was able to get a band score of 7. Thank you, MIFA.”
